Our High Priest

Hebrews 8:4-6,13 "If he were on earth, he would not be a priest, for there are already men who offer the gifts prescribed by the law. They serve at a sanctuary that is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build a tabernacle,"See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown to you on the mountian." But the ministry Jesus has recieved is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, and it is founded it on better promises. For if there had been nothing wrong with that first covenant, no place would have been sought for another. But God found fault with the people. ..By calling this covenant,"new, he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and aginf will soon disappear." God doesn't need Jesus to live on the eath and perform the duties of a priest on earth- there are people on earth that already did that. He needs Christ in h eaven wi...

Pondering Holiness

"You are to be holy to me because I, the Lord, am holy, and I have set you apart for the nations to be my own." Leviticus 20:26 What an amazing thought that we are truly created to by holy just as the Lord is holy. Even though we are filled with sin and fail all the time in our own strength we have been chosen and set apart to be holy. Here on earth we can never attain to pure holiness, as we by human nature are flawed, yet we can with God's strength allow Him to mold us. When God reveals an imperfection within our character we can either choose to give it to God and repent or continue to keep walking in the same direction. I don't know about you but I don't want to stay the same! Although its not always pleasant or fun when God sheds his light on an area that needs work, how much more worth it will be in the end. I want to be more holy today then I was yesterday and if that means dealing with sin in my life that hinders God's ablility to be glorified in me th...

My God is Holy

" And one cried to another and said. Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory. " Isaiah 6:3 This week I was reminded how Holy God really is, and how He is so much bigger then our circumstances. It's so easy to live our lives each day and not even really give God a thought or see His handiwork. How much easier it is to allow ourselves to get discouraged and not see His great power in the midst of each day. He is incredibly Sovereign, and sees everything, nothing goes past His sight. How comforting it is to know He sees it all, and even when we begin to wonder God where are you in this, never once has has He stepped away from our circumstances. Although there is darkness all around us, there is an even greater light with far more power. He sees it all! He sheds the light on the darkness, he sheds light on my darkness. Okay so this is random but the other day this guy came up to me and asked me if I was italian. It made me laugh and honestl...
